Sentence Connectors

Question Pattern for Examination

      Use appropriate sentence connectors in the blank spaces of the following passage:-

       Many people think that money can do everything in life. (a) ––– it is a must for our life, it is not the thing that necessarily brings happiness. Sentence Connectors 

Connectors are used to link large groups of words: phrases and sentences. We also use them to connect paragraphs to give them coherence. Sentence connectors are usually placed at the beginning/middle of a sentence.

Indicating Contrast:

Though / although the man is poor, he is honest.

·         Despite / in spite of

Despite / ln spite of his poverty, he is honest.

·         Anyway

You are late. Anyway ,you can join the class.

·         Still / yet

 His father forbids him to mix with those bad boys. Still / Yet he mixes with them.

·         Instead

He does not help me. Instead, he often disturbs me.
